Our Story

At Hi Candle!, we’re a little obsessed with good smells. Our mission? To create gender-neutral, feel-good candles using the safest ingredients we can get our hands on—without skimping on the vibes.

We use a luxe coconut and soy wax blend (no palm, no paraffin, no thanks), and only phthalate-free fragrances made from a mix of essential oils, nature-identical ingredients, and a few clever human-made ones too. It’s the good stuff, thoughtfully made.

Our cheerful mascot Rupert is the face of Hi Candle!—and the spirit behind it. He’s warm, friendly, and just here for a good time (much like our candles). These are candles for everyone.

We’re proudly independent and based in Melbourne, Australia. Everything is made with care, in small batches, by us—for you.

Meet The Maker

Founder and maker Andrew Gaul started Hi Candle! the way many great things begin: in his kitchen, surrounded by wax, wicks, and a healthy distrust of paraffin.

What began as a hobby quickly became a full-on candle obsession—and eventually, a business. These days, Andrew still hand-pours every single candle using a blend of coconut and soy wax, phthalate-free fragrances, and lead-free cotton wicks.

Because if it’s not good enough for his space, it’s not going in yours.
